Caring for Your Mat

  1. Spot clean only

    For spills or marks, blot gently with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth rather than rubbing, which can work a stain deeper into the fabric. Avoid saturating the mat with water or cleaning solutions, and test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area first.

  2. Keep out of direct, prolonged sunlight

    Extended exposure to direct sun can fade fabric dyes and patterns over time. When not in use, store your mat away from sunny windowsills or display it somewhere with indirect light.

  3. Store flat or loosely rolled — not folded

    Sharp folds held over time can crease or stress fabric fibers along the fold line. Store your mat flat, or rolled loosely with the pattern facing outward, in a cool, dry place between uses.

  4. Keep away from heat sources

    Avoid placing your mat near radiators, heat vents, space heaters, or other direct heat, which can dry out or damage fabric and backing materials over time.

  5. Skip the washing machine and dryer

    Unless a specific product's care instructions say otherwise, treat your mat as unsuitable for machine washing or drying — the heat and agitation can distort the fabric, backing, and pattern.

  6. Handle tiles and racks gently

    While our mats are made to stand up to regular play, setting tiles and racks down gently rather than dropping them will help keep the surface looking newer for longer.
